Tiger Woods Bombs at British Open Lindsey Vonn In Attendance

Rory Mcllory wins the British Open, and Tiger Woods was sent packing after bombing. Woods looked rough on the green, an obvious telltale sign more healing time after his back surgery was needed. He finished the British Open with 6 over par 294. Woods has some catching up to do to return, hopefully, with a stronger start at the PGA Championship in Louisville, beginning August 7. Woods, with his girlfriend, skiing star Lindsey Vonn in tow, left before seeing Mcllory’s victory. Vonn was in attendance for the game, her eyes hidden behind a pair of dark shades.

The Gold medalist accompanied her beau on a day he played the worst. Woods admitted to his bad day, which knocked him from gracing the top of the leaderboard.

Woods shared that he “made too many mistakes,” including two doubles, and two and three putts. Woods is still healing from his back surgery from late March. It is a recovery process Vonn knows much too well. She credits Woods for helping her bounce back from her knee injury earlier this year.

As Woods looks forward to healing and getting back in the game, Mcllroy is enjoying a win. He won by two strokes over Sergio Garcia and Rickie Fowler.

For Woods, he knows the recovery process is slow going and understands the work before him. “I’ve got more game time under my belt,” he said. Woods states he was out of practice for three months, and he is “just now starting to come back.”

Prior to hitting the big PGA Championship, Woods will head to the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone Country Club. An event he has claimed victory seven times over. Can Woods make a comeback?
