Apple iPhone 7 Rumors: What We Know So Far

iPhone 7 or iPhone 6S - what name will the next generation of iPhone be named? That is not guaranteed but the rumors are already heating up in anticipation as the fall season approaches. Reportedly, Vodafone leaked the release date of the next gen device in an email to staff members. The email received by employees suggested the iPhone will be released September 25th with a pre-order date on the 18th. In addition, the email did not label the phone with a number such as 6S or 7, rather it was called the “New iPhone.”

Rumor Has It

There is a lot of information and communications stemming around the newest iPhone model. Reports from Forbes indicates it may be an iPhone 6c model and much like the iPhone 5c, it will be a cheaper model and approximately a throwback to the 4-inch screens.

Many Apple fans wondered if the next gen iPhone would be honorably mentioned at the WWDC 2015 earlier this week. As expected that did not happen. Apple is not a hint-heavy company, nor are they likely to announce a device four months ahead of potential release.

Many tech experts believe Apple will stick with the two phone release formula, except this time a cheaper and more affordable option may join the iPhone family.

Overall, the iPhone 7 is not expected to change in dimensions when it comes to thickness. The iPhone 6 Plus was remarkably thin, so do not expect much change in the body. The changes are likely to be internal, such as better resolution. There is the sapphire screen rumor as well which seems to be ready for announcement.

The camera is another significant point of improvement the company may focus on. A 12-megapixel camera is mentioned by several tech experts with a possible dual-lens offering.

The screen may and we use may loosely, come with the Samsung-esque, edge-to-edge screen. Wireless charging may be a consideration but 3D display is unlikely. Speaking of Samsung, in an strange love affair, they may just be the company to supply Apple their newest A9 processor. The chip is expected to be tiny, efficient and incredibly powerful.

Do not expect much in battery life, not surprising considering Apple never really focused too much on battery extension. More RAM may be on its way which would be a nice change-up from previous versions.

On the Apple Watch, Force Touch is a nice feature to differentiate between a press and a tap - this feature may make an introduction on the next iPhone generation.

Finally, the rumor mill is mixed on the patent granted to Apple for “flexible electronic devices.” Could this be for the future iPhone release? The patent was granted earlier this year and could be read in its entirety here. This could bring serious power behind Apple’s brand.

Viral Global News will continue to follow the trends and rumors surrounding the next iPhone generation until its announcement and release by Apple.
