Fallout 4 Fan Pays Bethesda 2,200 Bottlecaps For Game

It’s not every day a fan is gifted $60 game for trading in, what most would consider, trash. Nonetheless, a tenacious redditor has done just that, trading in a whopping 2,200 bottle caps for a copy of Bethesda’s hotly-anticipated, post-apocalyptic RPG Fallout 4.

The redditor in question, thefatch1cken, uploaded a bunch of screenshots of his veritable ocean of bottlecaps. Weighing in at around 11 pounds, the Lord of the Bottlecaps said he collected them over the course of many years. “Turns out 4.5 years of undergrad and 3 years in a Master’s program leads to a lot of drinking,” stated thefatch1cken.

After packaging it all up, the Fallout aficionado dispatched them to Bethesda’s Maryland headquarters, along with a letter that explained his unorthodox actions:

“Needless to say, I got pretty excited when I started seeing more and more about Fallout 4. I’ve also noticed you’re now accepting preorders. I only saw prices listed in pre-war dollars, and I wasn’t exactly sure what the exchange-rate is these days, so I went ahead and sent everything I’ve been able to save since I played Fallout 3 for the first time. Using my bathroom scale and a number I found on Wikipedia, I’m thinking this is somewhere in the range of 2,240 caps. That ought to cover it, right?”

Here are the pictures of the ch1cken’s bottlecaps:

Here is Bethesda’s Matt Grandstaff (behind the camera) enjoying an alcohol haze:

According to the Protector of Bottlecaps, Granstaff informed him that he was the first person to have attempted such a stunt. In light of this, he would be receiving a free copy of Fallout 4 in November, when the game hits the shelves.

We’re not sure what version of Fallout 4 he’ll receive. Could it be the standard version o the game, or the ludicrously expensive Pip-Boy edition?
