For those who may not be familiar with the actresses, learn a little bit about their past and stay tuned for future stories.
Leslie Jones
Jones, born in 1967, was never intended to be missed. The statuesque actress stands at an impressive 6-feet-1-inch. Her talent route has a wealth of experience on the writing and acting end in Saturday Night Live and 1998’s comedic thriller Wrongfully Accused, alongside Leslie Nielsen. Check out Jones as Patty Tolan in the Ghostbusters reboot.
Melissa McCarthy
McCarthy entered the world in 1970 with the talent to make people laugh. She toured the comedian lifestyle before she ended on the TV screen in Gilmore Girls. Following that open door of acting, the much loved actress won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress when she starred in the hilariously funny Bridesmaid movie. She is slated to play Abby Bergman in the Ghostbusters film.
Kate McKinnon
One the youngest starring actresses, McKinnon was born in 1984 with a heart for music. She also understands stress in the industry. She received her first appearance in the Big Gay Sketch Show when she auditioned fiercely before Rosie O’Donnell. Several years later she joined the cast of Saturday Night Live and became beloved by audiences. Remember the Justin Bieber skit? As an openly gay woman, McKinnon promised a mission of identifying gay acting in Hollywood, she has lived up to that promise. McKinnon is slated to play Jillian Holtzmann in Ghostbusters.
Kristen Wiig
No one can pull off a Nancy Pelosi impression like Kristen Wiig. The 41-year-old actress is appreciated for the paths and laughs she has conquered in her life. Wiig made her talents known in Saturday Night Live, before leaving the show in 2012 to pursue her acting career. She has starred in a bevy of films, and each brings her sense of unique humor that keeps audiences coming back for more. Wiig will play Erin Gabler in the reboot.
