It is rare when a music video brings a sense of individuality but Gordon-Levitt, with the assistance of The Gregory Brothers, nailed it. In commonplace music videos the bikini clad booty and breasts of gyrating young women are made the centerpiece. It sells records, understandably, but when that rare difference pops up, it definitely is worth watching. On July 15th, Gordon-Levitt took to his Facebook page to release a music video called Sexy Motha.
In it, Gordon-Levitt is browsing the inner-workings of The Origin of Species by Charles Darwin. His friend, Andrew, of The Gregory Brothers is sitting across from him nibbling on a pizza, as a beautiful woman captures his attention.
He mentions it to Gordon-Levitt, but the actor and director says she is not his type. Cue the beat, and soon a discovery of wonder is released in lyrical melody that is both comical and inspiring. Check out the video to see why it has over 8 million views in under three days and has been shared over 190,000 times. As of this morning, it has accumulated over 94,000 likes. Trust us, once you watch it, especially moms, you are going to love it.

The video was featured on Pivot, for the HITRECORD ON TV show. The show was created, developed, starred and is hosted by Gordon-Levitt. It is a unique take on a variety show inspired by and for a community of artists.
Gordon-Levitt has been busy over the last few years with movie projects, and will be back on the big screen during the winter. Slated for release later this year is Snowden, based on former CIA employee Edward Snowden, and his discovered findings within the agency that tore open a hole in government secrets to the public.
