From CPA to Light Healing - the Power of Light and Divinity as Explained by Cindy Yoakum

Cindy Yoakum is a very familiar face in Ohio. Her voice is calming, her eyes clear, kind, beckoning you to chat away. Her touch is light, reassuring. She has emblazoned a path in Ohio and in local media because of her works. Known as Lightworks. For 20 years, Yoakum was a master to the numbers as a CPA. That was until one fateful day when she met someone who stopped her, analyzed her and told her she was on the wrong path.

She was not intended to crunch numbers, but instead to help people. This person was a spiritual healer and found a kindred spirit in Yoakum. Feeling her center beckon to this calling Yoakum turned from her “left-brained, logical, and black and white” world to a whole new one. This one led her to focus on the ability of helping people through Light and vibrations. Finding a new concept to her identity, Yoakum sought out a teacher who vigorously trained with her for a year to develop this remarkable gift.

Viral Global News had the pleasure of speaking to Yoakum between meetings.

VGN: Your official title is a Certified Light Journey Guide, can you share with us what that means, and expand a bit on your background?
CY: My certification stems from an intense year of training, about a decade ago, that cultivated my gifts as both an intuitive and healer. In a nutshell, the training taught me how to manage my energy and mind my boundaries. Once awakened to spiritual gifts, it can feel much like a brand new shiny toy-something that’s meant to be played with and shared with anyone willing to play in the sandbox. However, with the new toy comes big responsibility. It isn’t meant to taunt the other kids or be brandished like a sword.

Not everyone is going to like it.

Metaphors aside, the training taught me that not everyone will want my help nor am I a match for every person who seeks my assistance. I turn clients away if necessary. My work is done from a deeply grounded state-this means that I’m a clear vessel prior to a session and ensures that my client won’t feel or absorb my issues. The grounded aspect also protects me from my clients. In other words, I do not take their illnesses or their heartaches for them; it is theirs.

The training taught how crucial preparation is prior to a session. If you’ve ever seen me work at a psychic fair, you’d notice how I’m grounding and preparing often an hour prior to my first session.

My vessel becomes ready for the high vibration of Light that will travel through my body and without the proper preparation, my body cannot vessel high vibration Light. It is much like a radio. If I’m not on the correct station, I’ll be like static and useless to my client. Grounding tunes me to the proper station; it takes me closer to Divinity and moves me away from my human side. I learned to wait for the intuitive information; I receive it multiple times before discussing with my client.

The vast majority of my intuition comes from feeling. I am an empath and feel other people’s pain (and pleasure) but the training taught me to trust myself-to learn the difference between being in my head and being in my body. The body never lies. This means I feel the information and remove the mind. Anyone can guess and my client’s aren’t paying me to guess.

Most importantly, I learned that I am not the source of the healing but merely the vessel. It would be easy to become egotistical, but there is no room for it.

My background, prior to discovering my gifts, was a CPA! Left brained, logical, and black and white. There is still a strong analyitical side to me but I’ve learned to trust the intuitive and my right brain. It is always right.

VGN: You’ve mentioned previously that along your life, you met someone who you you have an innate gift of healing. How did that make you feel, and how did that affect your ability to see others?
CY: It was surreal! Several somebodies told me the same information, all who were all strangers. I had never asked for a “reading.” The most memorable instance was while on vacation at Mammoth Caves while in a geode/crystal shop. The owner took my hand, looked into my eyes, and told me facts about my life that only God knew. Once she got my attention based on her pin-point accuracy, she told me I was on the wrong path. I was incredibily psychic and meant to be a healer-it was time to implement the gifts I had buried and forgotten as a child. The weirdest part is that I knew they were right-not my head, but my soul. I started to see others as beings with more than just bodies but with souls. I allowed myself to feel other peoples’ suffering and eventually learned why people behave (good and bad) the way they do. Once you understand the root motivation, other parts of the puzzle fall into place.

VGN: Was the healing a talent you knew you always had but never used, or was it developed over time with knowledge?
CY: I didn’t know I could vessel heal until the last ten years, and yes, it has developed over time. The vibration of Light that flows through me is exceedingly powerful. The same frequency would have killed me when I first started. I had to undergo an initiation to earn the ability. In essence, prove that I was worthy of such great responsibility. The initiation is a story in itself.

However, I’ve always known I was intuitive. I always knew things I couldn’t explain. My first memory was as an eight year old girl. My youngest sibling was ill, and even though my mom had taken him to the doctor several times, he became worse. My mom, who never, ever asked me for advice, asked little Cindy what she should do. I told her she needed to take him to the hospital or he would die. Mom took my advice and his life was saved in the nick of time. The hospital performed an emergency tracheotomy-a few more minutes and he would have suffocated.

VGN: What do clients mostly seek from you as far as services?
CY: My most frequently sought after service is the intuitive/healing session. I assist my client, who is seated, to get into a grounded/meditative state. Once their body/aura is clear through the grounding process, I then tap into information. I feel what they feel. If their knee hurts, my knee starts hurting. If they feel grief, I feel grief. It makes me very accurate. We discuss how they can improve their circumstances. Then, if Divinity allows, I vessel the Light. The Light has more purposes than I could explain. It clears, it heals, it removes, it rejunenates, and more. It’s a privilege to work with the Light.

VGN: You have been featured on the Cleveland media scene several times,
do you think this confirmed to the public you are the real deal?
CY: Yes, I think it helps. Daytime media is most comfortable with my mainstream service-dream interpretation. Most people can relate to dreams on some level but not all people can relate to the supernatural. The media has opened doors for me. The casting director who works for the NYC production company that produces Long Island Medium contacted me a few years ago and entertained casting me for a documentary (or what we call a reality show.) It was in the earliest stages of development and fell through. It would have been good for me and for Cleveland, though, since they would’ve filmed here.

Here is a video excerpt from Yoakum in a local mall with the media:

VGN: Do you believe there is more to life than just the here and now?
CY: Absolutely. The more I do this work, the more humbled I am by the greatness of the Universe. I feel like a pillar of salt-in my place. It helps too, that I have mediumship abilities. Yes, I see dead people so I know there is an afterlife.

VGN: If you could tell everyone a secret regarding life, or a message of clarity, what would it be?
CY: Good question! Embody compassion. Your smile might mean the world to someone. A kind word could make someone’s day. A couple of dollars could give someone a break. We don’t know the big picture-and-that person could be you someday.
