In America, we hold celebrities to the highest point of iconic worship. Problematic? Yes, but it still happens. More people know about the Kardashians than foreign policy. More people know about Justin Bieber’s latest hit than local politics. But, even celebrities have been caught in questionable, strange moments. Moments that make their die-hard fans pause, before they ignore it, gloss over it and continue the worship. Here are 10 of those strange moments.
1. Justin Bieber Cuddles with BFFs
Back in 2013 when Bieber and Selena Gomez were off and on again, the Biebs was cuddling up to two of his BFFs during sleepy time. Lil Twist and Lil Za had their troubles with their bud, but for one moment in time, they seemed to cuddle. Was the Biebs aware?
2. Katy Perry’s Lip Sync Fiasco
2013 seemed to be a rough year for some celebrities. Perry attended the NRJ Music Awards in Cannes, and was asked to sing Roar. A painful video released showing a massive delay between Perry’s words, and the recording. The host stopped the fiasco, and asked Perry to sing it live. 3. Miley and Billy Ray Cyrus Releases Questionable Photos
In 2008 Vanity Fair released a photo shoot starring Miley Cyrus and dad, Billy Ray Cyrus. The pictures left many questioning the poses the father/daughter pair used. Comments from that time indicated they appeared more intimate than a child/parent relationship should be. You decide.
4. Hulk Hogan with Daughter Brooke Raises Eyebrows
Yet again, in 2013, disgraced wrestler Hulk Hogan tweeted some pics of his daughter, Brooke, creating a firestorm of questions from fans. Many said the way he was rubbing lotion onto his daughter’s legs was strange, and inappropriate. Brooke has defended their close relationship over the past several years. You be the judge.
5. Al Roker Freezes During Live Broadcast
Was it a joke or could the conspiracy theorists be onto something? In 2012 during a Today taping, Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie were discussing memories of prom, and Guthrie mentions the dancing included leaving room for the “holy ghost.” Roker turns to the camera, and makes a face. That expression remained fixed, unchanged, for at least 17 seconds. Roker later told the Huffington Post he had a “brain freeze,” and his director was egging him on to see how long he could hold it. Guthrie told him he could have a career in a wax museum. More strangely, Roker responded with “well we are in a wax museum. Whole other deal.” The video is below.
6. Beyonce Moving to Her Own Beat at Nets Game
In 2014, Jay-Z and Beyonce took in a Nets game. During a moment, someone snapped video footage of Beyonce acting strangely. During that year, the powerhouse couple reportedly, were experiencing marital issues. In the video captured, Beyonce is swaying back and forth, mumbling. Many people jumped to Bey’s defense, and said the two had been arguing, and that was her way of keeping herself cool to avoid yelling. Others said it was Illuminati.
7. Amanda Bynes Strips and Twerks in Store
It’s always sad to see a young, aspiring actress become media fodder. Amanda Bynes was the all American girl. The kind of actress a mother didn’t mind their daughter emulating. That all changed a few years ago. Last year, the actress visited a high-end NYC clothing store. There, she started dancing in front of customers. As a security guard approaches, she twerks, and tries to take off his jacket. Strange moments like these make us sad for the younger, celebrity, generation.
8. Kanye Controls Kim Kardashian?
In 2013 (that’s a favorite!) Kim shared she allows Kanye to dress her. When he made his debut on the Kardashian’s reality show in 2012, the rapper tossed out of all Kim’s clothes and purchased items he wanted her to wear. On the show, Kanye tells her she has to clean out everything. Many fans claimed Kanye is controlling Kim by forcing her to completely mold to what he wants. True or not? You be the judge.
9. John Cena and Amy Schumer Have Sex in Trainwreck?
During interviews promoting the movie, Schumer indicated she and wrestling star, John Cena, did have sex during a scene in the movie. Those defending Schumer explained she was just kidding, and nothing really happened. Cena claims he was wearing a sock, and it was just a new avenue of acting for him. Reportedly, Cena’s girlfriend was not pleased by the scene which makes it strange for Shumer to make the comments publicly if they weren’t true.
10. Angelina Jolie’s Cryptic Kisses with Brother
It happened in 2000 when Jolie’s brother, James Haven, accompanied his sister to the Oscars. While on the red carpet, Jolie turned to her brother and kissed him. A caregiver explained that the siblings spent the day at the hospital, due to a cancer scare, and Jolie was thrilled her brother was fine. During her win, she claimed she was “so in love” with her brother, which stirred the media disaster. Since that time, they have shared additional smooches which has caused questions.
