There are probably few people that have not been completely outraged by Rush Limbaugh’s offensive rants, often targeted at women. It should not be shocking to anyone that the insulting Limbaugh has once again made headlines for something so distasteful and ridiculous that you have to wonder if he has suffered some sort of brain damage in his lifetime. Here are a few of Rush Limbaugh’s top offensive moments.
No Means Yes, Girls! This past Monday Limbaugh went on another of his inane rants on The Rush Limbaugh Show. Typically, in the minds of most normal men, when a woman says no to sexual advancement, it means no. Simple right? Well not in the diluted mind of Limbaugh. He stated, “How many of you guys in your own experience with women have learned that ‘no’ means ‘yes’ if you know how to spot it? It used to be used as a cliché.” Dear Rush, NO means NO; that is a lesson you should have learned long ago.
McNabb and the NFL: In 2003, Limbaugh went on record saying that Donovan McNabb, who at the time was quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles, was overrated because of his race. He mentioned that he thought McNabb was a lousy player since he started in the NFL and went on to say, “I think the media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well…and he got a lot of credit for the performance of this team that he really didn’t deserve.” McNabb went on to take the Eagles to the super bowl.
Faking Diseases: Michael J. Fox, the actor who has suffered from Parkinson’s disease for most of his life, appeared in a political ad sponsoring Democrat Claire McCaskill in 2006. Limbaugh ignorantly claimed that Fox was faking the symptoms of the illness in the ad. He further made fun of Fox by mimicking the shaky, jerky movements that are symptoms of the disease. When he came under attack for his disgraceful actions, Limbaugh told the media he would not take back a word of it, and would not apologize.
Obama and Michelle: Limbaugh has made it very clear that he is a right winger; a FAR right winger, when it comes to politics. On his show he routinely attacks Obama, and even his family. He has featured on his show a routine called “Barack the Magic Negro,” and stated that Obama apparently “Talks honky around white people.” Nothing like statements dripping in racism, right? He also made fun of First Lady Michelle Obama’s nutrition system, stating that “She does not project the image of women that you might see on the cover of Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue.” I suggest you look in the mirror, Rush, before commenting on anyone’s weight.
These are really just a few of Rush Limbaugh’s top offensive moments. He has been making disparaging comments about women, numerous racial statements, flat out calling people disgraceful names, for years. If just hearing name Rush Limbaugh does not make you cringe, I am not sure what will. Unfortunately, it seems we will have to endure his stupidity for the foreseeable future.
