There has been a host of moronic “games” that have caused real injuries and worried parents. Games such as planking, the choking game, the knockout game and more. While everyone acknowledges teens will do stupid things to test their invincibility, the newest trend is even more bizarre. Enter the Charlie Charlie Challenge, where teens are creating a board to summon an ancient Mexican demon, or any other entity from the spirit world.
What happened to hanging out at the mall?
What does this game consists of? The teens grab a piece of paper and are instructed to form a cross using two pencils. In the created four boxes, yes/no is written. At that time the teens can ask if Charlie is in the room. If the pencil moves to Yes, it indicates a supernatural presence is among them. This explains what most teens do during an extended weekend? There are other options for well intended purposes.
- Donate time to feed the homeless
- Donate time to honor the fallen soldiers
- Plant a tree
- Research summer jobs
- and more!
While stupidity of this hashtag magnitude does not encompass the entire teen genre, it went noticeably viral this past weekend. Many posted videos on Twitter showing moving pencils after ranting and raving at the supposed demonic presence. Others asked immature questions like “Charlie will you date me”?
To make matters worse, there are ignorant newscasters who say “hey let’s try this!” Check out the below video for a testimony of the lunacy.
No, I am not religious, I may be considered agnostic with my views. Overall, I also don’t probe at the possibility of something demonic. The response level alone should have people rearing back, instead jumping right on in. Know what your kids are doing and prohibit ignorant behavior from continuing.
