5 Colleges Offering Tuition Discounts

The National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA), released an expansive list detailing a list of state tuition discounts. Many of the schools under the the Southern Regional Board offer tuition discounts in over 1,000 academic programs. Many colleges offer cost at “in-state tuition” levels, rather than higher “out-of-state tuition” costs. The Midwest region of schools showed considerable reductions for eligible students. The Western region of the U.S. permits tuition discounts for recently transferred graduates, or out of state students. The New England Regional Student Program offer discounts on tuition for out of state students who cannot find the major at their local college.

In reviewing the discounts, five colleges stood out among the rest for tuition discounts to assist new college students. Below, Viral Global News has listed the top five below for review.

1. Sarah Lawrence College - Bronxville, New York

The private liberal arts college, provides undergraduate and graduate courses. Student can choose from African Studies, Computer Science, Women’s Studies, Public Policy and dozens more majors. More than 60 percent of their freshmen body receives grants and discounts. The average amount? $29,206.

2. Wittenberg University - Springfield, Ohio

Based in the Buckeye State, Wittenberg is a private liberal arts college, with over 2,000 students. Many of the students represent 30 foreign countries. Students can exalt in selecting Education, Entrepreneurship, Earth Science, Dance or many additional majors/minors. The school shows a record of providing discounts to the whole sum of their freshman body, with an average of $21,771 in institutional aid.

3. Wheaton College - Norton, Massachusetts

Located in Norton, MA, Wheaton College educates about 1,600 students. With over four dozen majors like Asian Studies, Bioinformatics, Religion and Studio Art - the school commits to tuition discounts for 80 percent of their freshmen, at an average $24,126 per grant.

4. Hendrix College - Conway, Arkansas

Located just 30 miles from the former home of former president Bill Clinton, Hendrix College is a private liberal arts college. Students have several majors to select from, such as Classics, Psychology, Physics and Music. Hendrix helps out 100 percent of their freshmen body with tuition discounts, with an average $23,249 in grants.

5. Loyola University Maryland - Baltimore, Maryland

This Roman Catholic, Jesuit private university offers various majors such as, Applied Mathematics, Software Engineering, and Operations Research. Assisting 60 percent of their freshmen with tuition discounts, shows their dedication to fill seats. The average tuition grant? $22,929. Loyola rounds up the list of the top five colleges with tuition discounts.
