Tyler Decker was not like most teenagers. At 14-years-old, he joined his family business - his grandfather is a well respected home builder in the Toldeo, Ohio area. At just 19 he started his own company called Global Building Supply, LLC. The new company would import stainless steel sinks for residential and commercial properties. The young business owner experienced highs and lows, when his biggest client filed for bankruptcy. He encountered the Center for Empowerment & Economic Development (CEED) for a microloan. Later, he developed a well detailed business plan that earned nods and loans from Fifth Third Bank, and the Small Business Administration.

Just in May of this year, nearly ten years from his 19-year-old start, Decker won the Michigan Young Entrepreneur of the Year award, from the SBA. Humbled by the award, many knew he would only blossom further.
Decker is setting his sights on expanding his company into manufacturing. The now 28-year-old, will soon open the curtain on his new company, Pure Liberty Manufacturing. His current company name will change to reflect the new name and vision.
The company will expand to do more than sell stainless steel sinks. He stated he received numerous requests from companies and residents for sinks made in America. Hearing the call, Decker is building a 8,000 square foot warehouse on 10 acres of land. He hopes to further expand in the near future.
The plant is expected to open this summer, and it will start manufacturing stainless steel and granite sinks. Decker stated comparing the costs, manufacturing the homemade sinks would cost just about the same as importing. It made financial and logical sense.
Michigan, typically known as the car manufacturer hub of the country will soon expand to sell even, you guessed it, the kitchen sink. Much congrats and success to Decker and bringing jobs and creation to his state and country.
