Reports have been surfacing that convicted murderer Joran van der Sloot has been stabbed numerous time in jail, including one time in the kidney. However, while his wife has been busy making the claims, the prison denies that there has been any incident involving van der Sloot. The prison states that van der Sloot’s wife, Leidy Figueroa, is a compulsive liar and that she is not in her “right mind” because she married a convicted murderer. Penitentiary director Jose Perez Guadalupe dismissed Figueroa’s claims and said that nothing is wrong with van der Sloot.
Figueroa says that her husband was stabbed a total of three times and that she has a bloody polo shirt to prove it. She says that van der Sloot was “seriously” injured in the attack, CNN reports. Her husband is serving 28 years in jail stemming from a 2010 murder conviction. He admitted to slaughtering beautiful 21 year old student Stephany Tatiana Flores Ramírez at a casino hotel. After he killed Ramírez he attempted to flee but was caught near the Chilean border.
Before killing Ramírez he was suspected of murdering another student, Natalee Holloway, in June of 2005. Despite an intense effort, months of international media coverage, and constant campaigning for attention to the case by Natalee’s mother Beth Holloway, Natalee’s body was never found and van der Sloot has never been convicted of that crime.
Besides murdering Ramírez and most likely killing Natalee Holloway, van der Sloot has also tried to extort money from Beth Holloway. Despite his various crimes, van der Sloot has been afforded the luxury of getting married and having a baby while in prison. Figueroa gave birth to the couple’s daughter in October. What a charming upbringing that baby will have.
Now, Joran van der Sloot has allegedly been stabbed in jail, but prison officials strongly deny the claims. Figueroa has become a so-called “human rights activist” for her husband, complaining on a consistent basis that he is being treated poorly in jail. She claims that her husband wrote a letter to her stating that his tenure in the clink has been “worse than Guantanamo.” Recently, Figueroa took time out from what must be her excellent mothering activities to visit a human rights organization in Peru to complain that her husband is being treated unfairly.
If Joran van der Sloot has indeed been stabbed in jail and manages to survive his injuries, his fate is still billions of times better than the fate of the woman he admitted to killing and the woman who he probably killed. It is also better than the lives of their family members, whose worlds he has shattered with his monstrous choices.
It is wrong that van der Sloot has been allowed to participate in the privileges of law abiding citizens, such as having children. The genetics he has passed on to his offspring are nothing but trash. He should never have been allowed to get married, and he certainly should not be permitted to procreate. After van der Sloot completes his jail sentence in Peru, he will be extradited to the U.S. where he will be charged with regard to the Holloway case. Hopefully, the U.S. will lavish on him the treatment he actually deserves.
